A 5-year-old Florida boy has been arrested by Quapaw County police for driving while intoxicated. The boy, whose name has not been released in order to protect his identity, was pulled over by a Quapaw County Sheriff's deputy after the officer witnessed the child's car swerve off the road and hit a mailbox. Police say the youngster, who was driving alone, had a blood alcohol level of nearly 50 percent above the legal limit.
Relatives tell EWN that the boy has been driving alone, illegally, for at least the past seven months. He is able to operate this particular vehicle because it is specially equipped with hand controls. The child's father is paralyzed from the waist down and the car was modified for his use.
